         Martyn Bentley

Since 2003  I have been the Director andprincipal consultant of Cromar Solutions Ltd(www.cromarsolutions.co.uk), providing consultancy, technical and operational advice to polyurethane polyester and prepolymer producers across Europe, the USA and the Far East, including Taiwan, China. Currently providing consultancy to a major European company in developing a technical market for a major bio-based raw material. Cromar Solutions has also been involved in delivery of workplace assessments of process operators within the chemical and allied industries against national qualification / award standards. I am a certified to teach in the adult training sector and deliver basic Polyurethanes training courses in association with Smithers-Rapra  (http://info.smithersrapra.com/short-courses/). 

From 1992 to 2002  I was Quality Manager in ICI's Polyurethanes site in Shepton Mallet, Somerset, UK, developing responsibility for process technology developments on its Polyester Polyols Plant, increasing its output from <15ktpa to over 23ktpa by 2000., with improvements to product quality consistency to meet the needs of the developing footwear and TPU markets. Investigated and developed the benefits of the use of NIR analysis for process and product control.

From 1998 to 2002  I worked considerably in the Far East (Korea, Taiwan, Thailand), USA, Italy and Germany in the transfer of technology and establishing manufacture of polyesters and prepolymers in the local markets. Successfully managed the transfer of existing products, product know-how and process technology from Shepton Mallet to the German plant and established product consistency and interchangeability across the two manufacturing sites. Developed plans to improve German plant productivity by 25% with extensive hands-on demonstration of improvement possibilities and operator training

From 1983 to 1992 I worked for ICI Polyurethanes Research Dept HQ in Everberg, Belgium as a Process Technologist responsible for Polyester product developments in semi-tech unit, providing products for use in all PU applications. I had technical responsibility for all Polyester polyol manufacturing plants in the UK (Wilton, Huddersfield)

From 1977 to 1983 I worked as a Process Development Technologist at ICI Wilton, on manufacture of Polyether polyols (flexible and rigid applications), production of formulated blends, including work on manufacture of EO/PO surfactants, all with development of product quality standards and in-process analysis methods for process efficiency improvements.

From 1970 to 1977 I was laboratory based process development technician working on TDA, TDI, MDI batch manufacturing plants with ICI Dyestuffs (later Polyurethanes)

From 1967 to 1970 I worked in QC laboratories with ICI Plastics, specialising in physical testing of Nylon products and development of GPC analysis for PVC powders






       Dr. Grazyna Mitchener

Since 2008 I am the director and principal consultant of Polychemtech Ltd.  In this time I have been providing consultancy, technical and     operational advice to polyurethane system houses, polyol producers and polyurethane product manufacturers across East and West Europe as well as in the Middle East. 
In 2014 I was presented with the "Global Insulation Personality of the Year" award. 

From 1996 to 2008 I worked at Celotex UK - a manufacturer of high performance polyurethane (PUR) and polyisocyanurate (PIR) rigid insulation. At first as a development chemist, then from 2003 as a Technical Manager.  There I managed a team responsible for development of new products, formulations, cost efficient processes, data acquisition and manufacturing processes controlling software systems. I was also responsible for Quality Control to insure compliance with ISO 9000 and high products performance according to other quality UK and European Regulations and Standards.

From 1984 to 1994 I worked as a Fellow Chemist at Technical University in Poland lecturing and doing scientific research in Polymer Chemistry and Technology which resulted in 8 patents and 26 scientific publications.

In 1987-1988 I did a research secondment at Technological Institute in St. Petersburg in Russia
